This year seems to be flying by, with the end of Financial Year having been and gone already. Our Engagement Team are now looking forward to what is commonly referred to as 'Conference Season'.
This week we hosted the inaugural Southern Queensland Fleet Managers Forum at Logan with an agenda full of industry leaders. 35 council representatives and 7 local buy suppliers were in attendance to learn, network and upskill in best practice and understand industry trends. We thank everyone who made the effort to attend and remind you that our Central Queensland Procurement Summit is on in November in Yepoon - we'd love to see you there.
We know it’s a very busy time of year for councils in addition to locking in budgets for the forthcoming 12 months.
Our Engagement Team are now looking forward to what is commonly referred to as “Conference Season”.
Attending industry events is an integral part of our Engagement Team’s role. With councils located across Queensland, these gatherings provide valuable opportunities to connect and discuss Local Buy in person and maybe even share some casual networking to get to know you better.
In the next few months, you will see our team at:
- Western Queensland Alliance of Councils in St George
- Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) Conference in Brisbane
- Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) Conference on the Gold Coast
- Institute of Professional Works Engineers (IPWEA) Conference in Brisbane
- Local Government Finance Professionals (LGFP) Conference in Cairns
- Local Government Association of the NT (LGANT) Conference in Darwin
If you see us out and about or hosting a trade stand, please do swing by and say G’day. The whole team are very friendly and willing to assist with any Local Buy queries you may have.
Local Buy has one more face-to-face to event to host this – the Central Queensland Procurement Summit taking place in Yeppoon in November.
Local Buy events are generally free of charge for councils and other buyers to attend and your support is greatly appreciated. By working together and learning from each we can make Local Government Procurement a more effective place to be for our communities.
