
Heather Alterisio is a senior content producer at Boston.com. In addition to reporting and editing for the general assignment team, she designs and deploys newsletters including Things To Do and Extra; sends out breaking news alerts; curates section fronts; selects and edits wire copy; and covers Boston-area concerts. Heather joined Boston.com in 2022 after working for more than five years as a general assignment reporter at daily and weekly newspapers in Massachusetts. She covered a range of beats including breaking news, municipal matters, local elections, education, climate change, arts and culture, and all things New England. Her bylines can be found in The Daily News of Newburyport, The Eagle-Tribune, The Jewish Advocate, Metro U.S., and BostInno.
Education
Heather is a graduate of Emmanuel College, where she studied English: Writing and Literature. She also served as executive managing editor, staff writer, and food columnist for The Hub: Emmanuel College's Student News.

Heather's 2023 feature, "Newburyport survivor reflects on Boston’s resilience after 2013 marathon bombing," earned third place for Local Personality Profile in the New England Newspaper & Press Association's annual New England Better Newspaper Competition.
