Hayden Bird is a sports writer who has worked for Boston.com since 2016. Along with writing about the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox, he covers the Revolution and would love it if Boston became a soccer town. Hayden has also written extensively about historical Boston sports moments, including a history of "bandit" runners in the Boston Marathon.

Hayden’s 2021 piece chronicling "How a comedy of errors cost the Red Sox Carlton Fisk and Fred Lynn in the 1980-81 offseason" won first place in the New England Newspaper & Press Association's "Sports Feature Story" category.
