You’ll find everything from a Michael Jordan jersey in the bathroom to an entire room of Santa figurines in the Weston home of former Celtics co-owner and Raptor Group founder Jim Pallotta, which just hit the market for $38 million.
Built in 2006, 180 Ash Street is a six-bed, 12-bath (seven full, five half) home set on 19 acres of land. Measuring 21,000 square feet, the English Country-style estate is a rarity in Weston due to its acreage. But its hefty price tag isn’t commonplace, either.
“It will be a notable sale,” said Maggie Gold Seelig of MGS Group Real Estate, who is co-listing the property with Mark Doherty of Douglas Elliman. “The Pallotta home’s sale will be in good company when it happens.”
Despite its sprawling size, the home still manages to convey the message that a family lives there, said Seelig, who describes it as a “giant hug.”
A unique feature of the home is the room dedicated to Jim’s wife, Kim Pallotta’s collection of antique Santa Clauses, which she recently spoke about to The Wall Street Journal. When asked if she’s been in the jolly holiday space, Seelig said she has.
“It’s probably one of the most magical rooms in terms of just being transported instantly into the joy of what makes the holidays the holidays,” Seelig said.
Also equipped with a stunning kitchen with two islands, a pizza oven, and a fireplace, the home has spacious living and dining rooms and two offices. Jim’s music room, which is equipped with prime storage for records and listening equipment, boasts top-of-the-line acoustics.
“If you’re into music or have a passion for collecting records or listening to music, it’s amazing,” said Seelig.
The lower level is the ideal spot for hanging out out thanks to the billiards room, theater, gym, bar and gaming area, and wine cellar.
The outdoor space creates a flexible sense of indoor/outdoor living. An outdoor screened-in terrace, equipped with a grill and fireplace, serves as a protected spot from all types of weather. You’ll also find a swimming pool and a pool house, a four-car garage, and a basketball court, as you’d expect from someone who used to own an NBA team. Kim told the WSJ he still likes to play out there.
The home was built in 2006 by Brian Vona of KVC Builders.
Ten additional acres of land comprising four buildable lots can be sold for an additional price.
