The home of former Red Sox President and CEO Larry Lucchino, who passed away in April 2024, has hit the market for $7.495 million. The proceeds will go to Lucchino’s foundation, and then will be distributed to local charities.

“I think that’s so cool,” said Michael Carucci of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty, who has the listing. “It’s the nicest neighborhood of Chestnut Hill.”

Lucchino, a Red Sox Hall of Famer and the team’s former president and CEO, helped lead the Sox to three World Series championships. He was the most recent owner of the property.

The six-bed, nine-bath (seven full, two half) home at 130 Cabot St. in the Chestnut Hill section of Brookline measures 9,755 square feet. Built in 2000, it sits on just over three-fourths of an acre on a corner lot tucked behind mature trees for plenty of privacy.

Step inside, where high ceilings and beautiful pillars enhance the open floor plan in the main living area. An oversized fireplace, one of three in the home, anchors the space under a custom mantel. Continue into the kitchen, where you’ll find a long center island with bar seating, stainless steel appliances, and elegant white cabinetry. A large pantry is ideal for storage, and there’s also a scullery and multiple wet bars. A breakfast nook is the perfect spot for a casual meal, while the formal dining area is great for entertaining.

A private office is the perfect spot to work from home, thanks to a fireplace and elegant wooden walls. The first-floor primary bedroom suite is bright and filled with natural light. It features walk-in closets and a luxurious primary bathroom with dual sinks and a deep soaking tub.

On the lower level, you’ll find plenty of room that could be converted in a variety of ways. Currently, there’s a media room and wine cellar, as well as a home gym with built-in shelves.

Step outside to the sprawling outdoor area, equipped with endless amenities ranging from a built-in grill to a rolling yard filled with impeccable landscaping. Three terraces offer plenty of space to enjoy a meal outdoors, and there’s also a heated swimming pool. And of course, a bocce area.

“Leave it to Larry to have a built-in bocce court,” Carucci said.

There’s a spacious driveway and three-car garage.
