This luxury listing is situated across the street from the Bunker Hill Monument — and there’s a chance it could make a little Charlestown history of its own.
Last week, 31 Monument Square entered the market for $6,500,000, an asking price that, if met, would set the record for the most expensive single-family home sale in Charlestown. Tyler Le Cao of BA Property and Lifestyles Advisors has the listing.
The home, previously a four-unit apartment building before it was last sold in 2021, has been thoughtfully renovated, blending modern fixtures with restored period details. Standing at 4,656 square feet on 0.06 of an acre, it offers six bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. Elegant details such as wainscoting, marble fireplaces, and pocket doors can be found throughout.
The first floor shows off panes of stained glass and herringbone wood floors. This level includes a kitchen, anchored by an island that seats four, as well as a dining and living room.
Half of the bedrooms are located on the second floor, including the primary suite with a fireplace in the bedroom, walk-through closet, and bathroom offering a double vanity and separate shower and tub. The remaining bedrooms are found on the the third floor, along with a family room featuring a fireplace and wet bar.
The 16-room property also includes two parking spaces.
