New England has some of the best destinations in America for camping this season, according to Hipcamp.

The marketplace for outdoor stays released its inaugural list of 50 favorite places to camp in America right now and included three New England campgrounds: Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat in Warwick, Mass.; Sacred Heart Nectar Sanctuary in North Sandwich, N.H.; and Green Mountain Trails in Pittsfield, Vermont.

“By shining a light on our favorite campgrounds, we hope to make it easier than ever for campers to find the right outdoor experience for them they will love,” said Alyssa Ravasio, CEO and founder of Hipcamp, in a statement.

The winners were chosen based on positive camper reviews and ratings, regional trends, and editorial debate. They were also winners in the subsequent 2025 Hipcamp Awards, which names the top-performing camping sites of the year.

Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat, named one of the best Hipcamps in Massachusetts and among the best cabin rentals in the U.S., is “a private, evolving honeybee and human being sanctuary” on 17 acres of land abutting the Massachusetts State Forest, according to Hipcamp, with five lodging sites and “forest bathing for miles.”

At New Hampshire’s Sacred Nectar Sanctuary in the White Mountains, named one of the best Hipcamps in New Hampshire, guests choose from nine RV/tent sites on 290 acres. It’s described as “the campground to get away from campgrounds, where magic touches every corner.”

Vermont’s Green Mountain Trails, named one of the best Hipcamps in Vermont and a Hipcamp legacy award winner (a Hipcamp member for more than five years that is considered among the very best), is accessed by hiking or biking two miles to a completely secluded cabin on 600 acres with panoramic views of the Green Mountains.

Hipcamp is a community of more than 7 million campers who book all types of camping getaways, from tent sites to RV spots to glamping destinations. In May, Hipcamp announced it has doubled its U.S. inventory to more than 500,000 campsites.
